St.Thomas Tourney – November 21 – November 23

dsc0162213894_641911Wow!  What a weekend!  Rick/Jack’s Atom AE team went to St. Thomas for a very well run tournament.  We stayed at the Ramada in London, where the swimming, mini-sticking, and parent involvement (i.e. drinking) was underway.

Friday we lost to a formidable Ancaster team 3-2 then we beat out St. Thomas by 9-0 and Woodstock by 6-1.  This led us to the Semis on Sunday morning (oh, yeah, I drove home for Kris’ team’s pub night, then drove back to London at 11pm – yes, I’m a hockey mom), where we beat out Woodstock again by a score of 3 – 2.  The kids played their hearts out, and used up all their energy, because we got shallacked by Ancaster in the finals 7-0.

The family was well represented by Eric and Monica (no, Eric, there are no floods between periods), and Tante Daina who showed up both Saturday and Sunday and made friends with the parents and cheered us on.

As you can see by the pic attached, the kids look like someone shot their dog; on the brighter side, no one wanted to go home.  They just wanted more mini-sticks, swimming, and parental fun…

Go hockey moms! (except for Sarah Pallin) I am so happy to see this blog. I am, I hope, a future hockey mom when Max hits skating age. However, despite Boston being a big sports town, the Bruins are last in the locals hearts, behind the Red Sox, the Celtics, and the New England Patriots. Can’t wait to read more!
